Unit 6 post
Hello All,
I am a little late with this post because I had some problems with my computer as well as connecting spiritually but I was determined. I tried this exercise a couple times in the past few days and had no real reaction. Yesterday, it was hard for me too because of all the distractions was going on with me. But repeating the phrase did bring relaxation although my thoughts were all over. So, I got up this morning, rested and refreshed, and began the exercise again. This allowed me to focus and think differently and brought peace within about a personal situation that I have been struggling with and harboring. The peace came with the repeating of ...
"May all individuals gain freedom from suffering.
May all individuals find sustained health, happiness and wholeness.
May I assist all individuals in gaining freedom from suffering.
May I assist all individuals in finding health, happiness and wholeness"
An awareness happened and I heard "let it go". As a result I am free from the bitterness I have been harboring since last year about the situation. In fact, today I realize this is why I was able to have a conversation with the person involved in the issue on Sunday after church.
The integral assessment showed an area of difficulty and suffering for me as biological and the line of development would be self-regulation focusing on moving and progressing from normal routine to subtle mind/body practices to highly refined spiritual/mind/body abilities. I have begun practing basic meditation tecniques and plan to continue because I like what's being revealed to me. It's helping!
As I recentered myself in stillness to shift from healing to focus on promoting integral development the area of growth and development was revealed being interpersonal in the area of community which exceeded the areas of family and personal life. I believe the urgency in this area is related to establishing my future business of working with adult women in recovery and the desire to develop and fully birth a 6 year old, God-given vision. It's coming!

Drucilla,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to let go of what you have been hanging onto for so long. I know personally it is a freedom you can't put into words. Whether it is by meditation, your faith, help from a friend, or any other source, getting that chance to finally "let yourself" let go is so freeing. I realized back when I was hanging onto something that it's not hurting them, it's hurting me. They've moved on from the issue while I was still thinking about it and dwelling on it everyday. It brought me down in my emotions, my health, and my spirituality. The only person that holds us back is usually us. But now...that you have let go, you watch how God will start blessing you in areas of your dreams and passions. I know for me, I had to get out of God's way. I was hindering my dream. But when we come to that realization we release the blessings that have been waiting for us. Good luck on your dreams and I wish you the best. Take care ;-)

Hi Ali,
DeleteThank you for your encouraging words and it is very true we are our own hold back. But these meditations in the past weeks have been good for me. They are helping me make lifestyle changes that are very much needed and will be useful in the future. Being in church and an Evangelist I am full aware of letting go and let God and "be still" but you actually have encounter or practice the concepts and teachings to fully understand what's being said.
Thanks again for posting a response.

Hi Dru,
ReplyDeleteI also had difficulty with this week's exercise. I did my blog even though I didn't feel I got anything out of it; but I took a few suggestions that people left on my blog and when I finally did the exercise again last night, I felt a sense of peace come over me. I just felt my heart open and it was so calming...I don't know how else to describe it. I'm glad I kept trying...as you did also.
I'm glad you were able to "let go" of anything negative that was blocking you...sometimes I know that can be difficult to do. It's amazing to see how our minds become still and the sense of calm allows us to see things with such clarity. We tend to hang on to feelings and situations...thinking we have to...but in the end, we don't have to do any of that. We just have to be...which brings us so much more peace and happiness than we could have imagined. I hope you continue on this wonderful journey... :)
Manisha,
DeleteMaybe it was intended for us to have to go back and repeat the exercise to get the benefit. But I am grateful that I followed the instructions because the benefits were worth it. Although I don't fully understand the processess I plan to continue because I am gaining lifestyle changes by bringing mind/body/spirit into alignment. Yes, I plan to continue the journey. Thank you for the support and encouragement.
